Biography
Kristian Braekkan started his doctoral studies in August 2006. Kristian has taught International Management, Organizational Behavior, and HR Staffing and Development at Virginia Tech. He is interested in both micro and macro-related issues in management. His current research involves organizational forecasting capabilities and associated multi-level issues. He is also interested in human resource management and labor-related issues, such as the role of unions in the formation of psychological contracts and the union's role in employee/employer relationships with respect to strategic HR. He is also curently working on research related to Item Response Theory and more specifically "the generalized graded unfolding model."
Kristian has been involved within academia for the last few years prior to arriving in Blacksburg, and most recently at Georgetown College (KY) where he taught macroeconomics, international finance, and principles of finance at the undergraduate level.
Kristian is a member of the Academy of Management and the Society
for Industrial and Organizational Psychology.
